The woman who wants it all and gets it, too
In 1994, Chelette was a single mother who was going through a divorce, had a business with no clients, was living in a condo heading into foreclosure – and had only $300 in her bank account.
Chelette fought for her survival throughout a seemingly endless decade of bad luck and tragedies, both personal and professional. But even when faced with hardship, the realities of being alone and broke, she was determined that she was not going to be defined by the things that kept going wrong. Chelette firmly believed there had to be something better out there that would make her struggles worthwhile in the end.
When it seemed things couldn’t get any worse, Chelette went right to the top: she wrote a letter to President Bush and asked for help. Three months later, with a response from the White House in hand, she was finally able to secure a loan backed by the SBA. In short succession, she not only turned her faltering business profitable, she became the leading global provider in her industry. The story gets an even happier ending when she became a multimillionaire by selling her business to Bill Gates. Chelette calls herself a “woman who wants it all and gets it, too” for good reason – she is living proof that her concepts and tools work.
